Recently I purchased the Sony Webbie HD camcorder. Like many other pocket camcorders, it has a sleek, slim design which allows it to fit right in your pocket. Straight out of the box it comes with the camcorder itself, a strap, a battery, a charger, manuals in both English and Spanish, a mini-usb to usb cable, a component A/V cable, and a composite A/V cable.
Video shot by this camera is in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. This goes for the 3 video modes: VGA and 720p, with zoom topping at 4x digital zoom, and 1080p, which tops at 2x digital zoom. All 3 of these modes shoot at 30 frames per second.
Photos, shot with this camera, shoot up to 5 MPs, in the JPEG format.
Files are stored on a Memory Stick Duo (not included), unless you choose to just use the 18MB internal storage.
A great feature is, the ability to rotate the lens 180 degrees, something unseen on other camcorders of this type. It’s great for the occasional vlogger.
This lens also allows you to turn the camera off, just by moving the lens towards the bottom of the camera.
Also included in this camcorder’s feature list, are several shooting modes such as sports, landscape, lowlight, and a backlight mode. Backlight mode allows you to take video with large amounts of sun or light.
If you are looking for an easy to use, light weight camcorder, the Sony MHS-PM1 Webbie HD pocket camcorder is the way to go! And if you want to invest a little more money, the new Sony MHS-PM5 Bloggie HD is out as well!
